SAN FRANCISCO, CA — March 2026 — More than 300 teams from across the western United States gathered at San Francisco’s Moscone Center for the 2026 U.S. Futsal Northwest Regional Championship. Hosted February 27–March 1, the tournament welcomed teams from across the region including Cal-North, Cal-South, Colorado, Hawaii, Oregon, Texas, and Washington, creating three days of high-level competition in the heart of downtown San Francisco.
The 2026 tournament marked the first time the Northwest Regional Championship was held at the Moscone Center, providing significantly expanded space for the growing competition. The venue allowed organizers to install 14 Futsal courts under one roof, giving teams more room to warm up, practice, and compete while creating a dynamic tournament environment in the center of the city.

“The Moscone Center allowed us to elevate the experience for players, coaches, and families. With about 40 percent more space than previous venues, we were able to host more teams while also shortening daily schedules. That meant a better competitive environment and a better experience for everyone involved.”
— Alexander Para, President of U.S. Futsal
Competition ran from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. each day. The tournament featured competition across a wide range of divisions, including boys and girls teams from U8 through U19, as well as Open Men and Open Women divisions. In total, 16 men’s teams competed in the adult men’s bracket.
Youth participation remained a highlight of the tournament. The Boys U12 division included 48 teams — matching the number of teams that compete in the FIFA World Cup — while the Girls U12 division featured 40 teams, the largest girls division in the event’s history.
“The level of play continues to rise every year. What stood out this year was not just the number of teams, but the energy and passion throughout the venue. Bringing the tournament into the center of San Francisco created a vibrant atmosphere that really reflected the growth of the Futsal community across the West.”
— Ricardo Da Silva, Director of Coaching for U.S. Futsal
U.S. Futsal thanks Daniel Lurie, the Mayor of San Francisco, for his warm welcome letter recognizing the event and the visiting athletes, coaches, and families who traveled to the city to compete. Beyond regional bragging rights, the competition also carried national implications — finalists in each division earn invitations to compete in the U.S. Futsal National Championships, held this July in Las Vegas, where teams from across the country come together to compete for national titles.
